Matthieu Cauchy (b.1993, France) works accross the fields of contemporary documentary photography and publishing.
It was while studying philosophy at the Sorbonne, that he felt the urge to start transforming ideas into images, which he then pursued at «ESA le 75» in Brussels and at the «Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photo d’Arles». His photographies tell the stories of individual’s everyday life in their most intimate details. His work shows that questions about the society we live in do not have to be understood as an abstract sphere, but that they are fundamentally intertwined with the personal encounters we make - encounters which we cannot plan or forsee.
In 2018, he founded «Coucou Magazine», a self-publishing structure with Romain Cavallin.
